The mind

Mindfulness + Meditation

Meditation helps us to both relax and wake up. We learn skills to release our nervous system and train in becoming more present to the fullness our lives.

Rather than being locked into the momentum of our lives, we learn to slow down and notice what’s actually going on. The more we become aware, the more we are able to respond to life’s situations with choice rather than with knee jerk reactivity. We notice and begin to find creative ways of working with our habits of mind, body and heart. We get to know ourselves in a more meaningful way.

Andrea teaches both individuals and groups. Her approach is focused on embodiment. She believes this can often be the missing link in Mindfulness teaching, and left out it can all get a bit ‘heady’… another ‘thing we do’ in our already busy lives.

Andrea is a qualified Breathworks teacher. She runs ‘Introduction to Mindfulness’ courses, ‘Mindfulness and self-care’, ‘Mindfulness at Work’ courses, taster sessions and regular practice groups. She also runs ‘Going Deeper’ meditation courses and a ‘Cultivating Positive States’ course which focuses on building  resourcefulness and resilience. She is also teaches the 8 week ‘Mindfulness for stress course’ and ‘Mindfulness for Health’ course for people living with chronic pain.

She currently teaches at the Hackney mental health charity Centre for Better Health and is a part of the Breathworks Teaching team at the West London Buddhist Centre.
